Catch him if you can, Steven Long makes Oregon Proud

It was one of the most impressive single game performances in State History against a very good Skyline, Washington Football team. Steven Long (5-7 175 RB Sr.), fresh off a Portland St offer, made the Spartans pay almost every time he touched the ball. When all was said and done Long had rushed for 427 yards and 7 touchdowns ( 36, 71, 38, 75, 5, 73, 1) to lead the Lakers to a 56-46 victory over the previously nationally ranked Spartans of Skyline.

You can bet PSU will be in competition with a variety of other schools for his services come next year. When asked about the record breaking performance he smiled and nonchalantly said, “ya the line played great tonight”. He is the true definition of a class act and the respect given by his peers is very evident. One of his primary competitors for Conference Player of the Year Blake Dutton says ” he’s a class kid and I got mad respect for him”.

NEI will be bringing you three games of the Week (Oregon 2, Washington 1) with unmatched film and analysis. Here is Long in full effect with the entire Lake Oswego student body chanting in unison “Steven Long”.
