Oregon/Washington Top Athletes, No Offers 2012 – Additions
October 15, 2011 by Jordan Johnson

Mt View WR/S -Cody Hollister 6-3 195…2011 Current Stats: 32 receptions for 545 yards, 17.1 ypc, (9 total tds), 2010 Stats: 72 rec, 1270 yards, 15 Tds, 17.6 YPC, 3 Ints- One of the top receivers in Oregon that had a breakout season a year ago. He has been double teamed a great deal with with super talented side kick (John Carroll 6-4 190 Jr) being injured. He is an outstanding WR but may project at a higher level as a safety.

Mt View QB/S- Jacob Hollister 6-3 200..2011 Current Stats: 50/78, 64.1Com Pct %, 14 Tds/1 Int…3 int’s on defense 2010 Stats: 119/199 1980 Yards passing, 27Tds/ 5 Ints, 59.8 Com Pct%…Another kid that had a phenomenal junior year. 1st team all league, 2nd Team all state.. Injured earlier in the year but his crew has gotten healthy and if they can maintain quality line protection they have a chance. Jacob is an outstanding safety as shown with his 3 picks. Both him and his brother are viable college recruits because they can play on either side of the ball. They are not limited to one position

Bend WR/DB/ATH- JC Grim 6-3 190..2011 Current Stats:38 Rec/648 yds/9 Tds, 17.05 YPC, 108 Yards Per game, 5 Int’s on Defense..Grim is a super talented athlete that blew up the Barton Marketing event at UW over the Summer . He was a first team all league athlete as a junior but played QB which isn’t his natural position. As a WR he currently is the favorite for conference player of the year tearing up Central Oregon and beyond. His 5 Int’s ties him with BYU commit Dallin Leavitt for the state lead.

Chiawana S Miquiyah Zamora – At 6’1″, 205 pounds, Zamora has had schools eyeing his talents since his junior season when he posted 400 yards rushing and five touchdowns on offense while also racking up 55 tackles and an interception on defense, but this year his main focus has been on the defensive side of the ball where he’s already racked up 42 tackles and two interceptions for the 5-0 Riverhawks. He flies around and loves to bring the wood on every play. Washington, Oregon State, Washington State, Boise State, Idaho, Wyoming, Eastern Washington, Montana State, Montana and some D-2 schools have been showing him interest, but up until this point, none have extended an offer.

Chiawana RB Jordan Downing – Downing, a 6’1″, 205-pound bruiser has rushed for nearly 1,000 yards and 15 touchdowns while also posting 50 tackles, two interceptions and two forced fumbles on the defensive side of the ball. It’s amazing that Downing doesn’t have an offer yet. He’s a good student, an outstanding football player and a leader both on and off the field for the 5-0, fourth-ranked Riverhawks. Eastern has begun to show some interest and he recently took an unofficial visit, but at this point he’s still waiting for that all-important first offer
****Important info- Downing went down with an injury in week 6 and it is unclear when he will return

Peninsula RB Danny Welstad – Welstad got off to a great start rushing for almost 300 yards and six touchdowns in the first game of the season and has averaged nearly 230 yards per game this season while helping the Seahawks to a 4-1 record, their only blemish coming at the hands of second-ranked Lakes last week. Welstad isn’t a bruiser, using his outstanding vision and quickness to always gain positive yardage. Schools from the Pac 12, Big 10 and the MAC have all made contact, but still no offers have been forthcoming.

Oregon/Washington Top Athletes, No Offers 2012
October 4, 2011 by Jordan Johnson

DJ May- Federal Way- 5-11 185 RB/S- Federal Way- Not a ton of experience coming into high school, but he has blown up.. Scouts don’t question his speed (4.49) electronic. He has rushed for 12 total Tds and over 563 yards in the first 4 games. This past spring he MVP’d the Oregon NFTC at RB all the more proving he was legit. He also finished in the top 10 among 560 competitors at a SPARQ event in Tigard, OR over the summer. He has excellent speed and tests very well projecting as a corner, safety, or slot at the next level. Recently broke a rib and will be sidelined for 2-3 weeks

2011 Mid Season Highlights

Jayshawn Jordan- Odea- 5-10 180 RB/CB- O’Dea- Size is always questioned, but the kid is sick. Last year he went to the Badger 7 on 7 event in Vegas and destroyed the competition. Talent wise an unquestioned D1 talent, ..3 year starter with 35 inch vert, 1st team all league DB 09′, 10′..Washington St pulls offer after another athlete commits.

Testing + Barton Camp

2010 Highlights

Matt Nillson- 6-5 250 TE/DE/OL- Juanita Sr…The big man has been a kid on the bubble..Scouts love Nillson due to his versatility, he is a blocking tight end that can catch or give you a power rush off the end. Add fourty pounds and you have a very athletic tackle. Regardless Matt is doing well in the classroom and should be looked at as a D1AA- D1 kid.

Levonte LittleJohn- 5-11 195 RB- Lakes Sr.. LittleJohn has been contacted by every Pac 12 school, most recently Arizona. He ran for 1993 yards a season ago, and should dominate competition running behind a mammoth line lead by the country’s #1 lineman Zach Banner.

Travis Marshall-6-1 195 ATH- Juanita Sr..Maybe the biggest secret in the Pacific Norhwest..In the season opener against Redmond he touched the ball four times and found the end zone three of them. He recently ran a 10.9 100 meters and hasn’t played football in a few years. He is the son of All American Cricket Marshall who ran a 10.3 100 meters back in the day.

Dillon Miller- 6-0 185 QB- Sheldon Sr.. The Conference Player of the Year in Football and Basketball is ranked the #1 QB in Oregon. In 2010 he threw 40 Touchdowns passes for over 3400 yards. He is the son of former NFL QB and current Arizona Cardinal Coach Chris Miller. He projects at the D1AA Level but has legit D1 smarts and abilities. It comes down to size and arm strength. The other intangibles are there.

Jack Singler 6-3 175 South Medford Sr..The Senior QB has been off the charts good thus far in 2011. Living up to the hype of his famous last name isn’t always the easiest thing to do, but Jack is thriving. His Panthers are (5-0) 18 Tds, 2 INT’s, 67.8% com pct through 5 games.

Evan Eggiman- 6-2 220 WR/SS Liberty Sr…This all league athlete has people up in arms asking how this kid hasn’t been found. Teammates, coaches and opponents all have said the same thing..He’s legit! His 4.5 electronic 40 yard dash adds to his physical attributes. Quarterbacks Coach Jackson Gillett says “he is the most underrated player I have ever coached”

Zack Walen- 6-3 200 OLB/TE Sr…The wing span on this kid is ridiculous. His father played for the Dallas Cowboys from 1985-90 and was an All American in college. Zack was an all league LB as a junior, but he is a kid we project will just get better with age. He has a lot of room to add weight and size which could make him very dangerous at the next level. He earned MVP LB Honors at the University of Washington NFTC.

Koleman Vance- 6-3 220 QB/S Lincoln- This is a unique case. He is a legit division one talent on both sides of the ball, but schools won’t touch him because of off the field related issues. Everyone is aware of how talented the kid is, but you hear the same thing from coaches anytime questions are asked… Very unfortunate if things don’t change. He has a “Cam Newton” type body and the physical traits required to succeed at the next level.

Oregon Live Photos – Lincoln Wins

Alex Matthews 6-3 205 QB Lake Oswego- The senior quarterback is playing very well and is currently ranked the #3 QB in the state of Oregon. He has D1 genes with his brother (Jay Matthews) playing DB at Washington St. He has led LO to a 3-0 start with big wins coming against Central Catholic and nationally ranked Skyline of Washington. . The knock on Matthews was his lack of game experience sitting behind 6-6 Austin Kent last year. This past summer he had multiple breakout performances on the camp circuit, initially at the University of Georgia and then on to Oregon where he earned QB MVP Honors at the Nike (NFTC). He has been very poised and efficient thus far, making mature decisions in crunch time. Through 4 games 11 Td’s, 0 Ints, 68 Com %

Alex Matthews Highlights vs. Jesuit: Lake Oswego Rocks Jesuis, 49-21 from ESPN.com.

Blake Dutton 6-2 190 SB/FS Lakeridge- State leader in Touchdowns 6A (17)..Has unbelievable quicks and the size to go with it. Dutton has already taken 4 Td’s back via punt and kick returns so he is exciting any time he touches the ball. He is another kid with D1 genes (Oregon) that will need to be the go to guy against Aloha who will definitely have a spy on him. Dutton had a break out performance at the UW Barton Marketing event along with Austin Baird of Marist in July. The Pacers haven’t played anybody so that has been the only criticism thus far. The Warriors will be tough, but also missing two key players injured against Grant (Bryson Sullivan, Sheldon Prince).

State leader 2011 first 4 games: Blake Dutton on Orlax Recruit.com

Sione Kauhi- Wilsonville 6-6 240 TE/DE- Big time target; 7 catches, 88 yards, 3 Tds.. All league both ways as a junior and gives schools multiple options as he plays D well and can cause problems coming off the end.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MBIovRw-ugg- 2010 Highlights

Tommy Knecht- Lakeridge 6-5 190 QB- 3rd year starter. all league QB 2+ years.. ranked the #4 QB in Oregon, 15 Tds 1 Int 69.5 Com Pct (5-0) record..Did very well on the camp circuit over the summer..Oustanding multi sport athlete that is thriving in a system he knows very well

Nathan Leddige- Southridge 6-7 280 OL- First team all league lineman from a year ago that has ideal size and a lot of interest. Wyoming among others said to be very interested. Coaches would be getting a solid athlete that continues to get better

Duck Territory comments on Nathan Leddige

Matt Retzlaff- South Medford 5-11 195 WR/SS- One of the best football players in Oregon. Projects as a D1aa safety but is torching the state as a receiver, 28 rec, 519 yards, 10 totalTds..Absolute play maker that was a first team all league DB, and second team all league WR as a junior.. Also leads the team in Int’s (3) through 5 games (5-0)

2010 Highlights- kids filthy

Grant Taylor- Lake Oswego 6-2 215 FB/LB- One of the best overall athletes in the state. 2nd Team all league as a junior at linebacker..Conference Player of the year in baseball 2011′, Outstanding kid could benefit a variety of programs, projects at the D1aa level

2010 Highlights

Cole Thomas- Summit 6-0 170 WR/DB- Son of former NFL vet Robb Thomas, Outstanding sprinter that finished second in the state at the 5a level- 100 meters (10.9) . 2nd team all league kid from a year ago that has had the luxury of learning certain intangibles from his father. 2011 stats.. 12 catches, 303 yards, 6 total Tds..Only knock comes from the teams lack of competition

Connor Black- Wenatchee 6-4 190 WR- Check this kid out, he is 6-4 and long..Looks 6-6 and can jump. Currently has 31 catches for 490 yards and 6 touchdowns over the first four games..Very talented kid that did very well ion the camp circuit which included an outstanding performance at the Barton Premier Marketing event at UW.

2011 Mid season highlights

Ben Goirigolzarri- Roseburg 6-0 220 LB/FB- Projects at the D1aa level and continues to be a force on both sides of the ball..His anticipation from his linebacker position is jaw dropping..He lays hat everywhere

Single game highlights

Denzel Jones- Eisenhower 5-10 165 RB/DB- State leader thus far through 5 games with 850 yards and 11 touchdowns

2011 single game

Deion Wright- Davis 6-1 185 QB- State leader in total offense; 1800 Total yards, 20 total tds, 3 Int’s
