Christian Gasca; Washington’s Leading Receiver

Statistically he is one of the best receivers in the country (Max Preps), and to back that up Christian Gasca (5-11 185 Sr ATH) absolutely went off in 2011. The senior wide out from Lake Stevens broke 7 school records and lead his team to the class 4a semi finals. He accounted for 2087 all purpose yards and 26 total touchdowns. His records included single game, single season, and career receiving touchdowns, and also single game and single season career reception and reception yardage.

Gasca earned 1st team all conference honors at 3 different positions (WR, DB, KR) and did it on both sides of the ball. Gasca lead the state of Washington in receiving yards (1308) and receiving Tds (19). He managed to pick off 4 passes and return 2 of them for Tds, while returning an incredible 4 punts for touchdowns. Watching his highlight film actually becomes tiring the kid does so much. Its rare to see an average size athlete dominate opponents the way he did.

Christian has been under the radar to an extent to do his size and the fact that he plays in the Northwest. He was just recently named to the Associated Press All State team as a WR, and before that was named to the Seattle Times all state and all area Teams as a wide out. The Tacoma News Tribune named him to their all state team as a KR, and the Everett Herald All Area Team had him listed at WR, DB, and KR.

Its important to list all of these accolades, because its rare for a kid to get acknowledged by so many different publications at so man different positions. Colleges that are recruiting him will love this due to the fact that he can play multiple spots for them. The more options the schools has the more likely they will be to go on him.

Gasca is currently playing varsity basketball, but wants to play college football. He helped lead Lake Stevens to a (12-1) record and we feel the sky is the limit for him moving forward. We will continue to update you on Gasca’s progress and wish him the best in 2012.
