You aren’t going to find a much better kid than Nick Underwood (6-1 220 Jr). The best way to describe him is as the guy you want your daughter to date.

On Tuesday night the Air Force Academy extended a scholarship to the Lake Oswego linebacker making it his first official offer. He has started the last two state championship games, earning 1st team all league honors last season.

Referencing how the offer went down he says, “The Air Force Coach and I have been in touch for about the last 2 months now, and he came and visited me a couple weeks ago and told me to call him last night”. He continued, “We were just talking and he offered me…. I was at a loss for words and happy that my hard work was starting to pay off.”

The Lakers have won more football games then any other team in the state over the last decade, but this season will be interesting with a lot of good kids graduating the last two years. Lake Oswego has one of the longest conference winning streaks in the nation going, and it will be up to Underwood to lead the group in what will be a much more balanced year.

Speaking more on Air Force Nick says, “This offer is just going to make me work even harder and stay humble.. Its very satisfying to have a D1 offer and somewhere to play, I am extremely blessed”. He added, ” I want to thank my parents and coaches who have pushed me to be the best I can be, the trainers at PTC especially Mark McLaughlin, and you and Taylor Barton”.

Head Coach Steve Coury does a phenomenal job with his athletes on and off the field. He is one of the most respected high school coaches in America, and kids like Underwood exemplify all that is good about Lake Oswego Football.
