Conference POY Watch
September 29, 2011
The "Player of the Year Watch" is designed to include all athletes regardless of their projection into college. The Conference Player of the Year usually goes to the best player in the league based on what they do on Friday Nights..As an example I use last years Oregon Defensive Player of the Year Jonathan Shaffer (5-8 190 LB) from Aloha. He is not going to go play big time D1 ball due to his size, but he was an absolute assassin on the field.
Over the year I will update these lists weekly with some kids moving up and some kids moving down. We hope to have a lot of feedback as to who is doing well, and who may be flying under the radar. Keep in mind most kids that receive POY honors are usually on good teams. If the team is average or sub par, it becomes much more difficult to earn the awards.
This is one of many interactive type lists that you will see over the next year. It will allow the fans to get in the mix and give their two cents.. Good luck to all the athletes as we are looking forward to an outstanding 2011 season!!
