Zach Walen Gets 5th Offer From Red Hot North Dakota

One of Oregon’s most high profile kids, Zach Walen (6-3 195 Sr OLB/TE ) , of state champion Lake Oswego received his fifth offer just after Christmas and he is looking forward to going on some official visits. Walen was offered by one of the countries hottest teams in North Dakota and now holds scholarship offers from Portland St, Eastern Washington, San Diego, and Dartmouth.

Walen has NFL genes and still may land a few Pac 12 offers, but for the time being he will be bouncing around from state to state all of January. Zach was a first team all league athlete on both sides of the ball, and was named first team all state on both offense and defense at NEI . The Oregonian just named him a second team all state selection on both sides of the ball, so accolades were not hard to come by over the season

Walen lead his Lakers to their first state title in school history, and now wants to earn a title at the college level, “Im eating a lot and lifting everyday and doing whats necessary to prepare”. His long frame is something coaches love, as they can easily see him at 230 and just as quick. He will be gone each weekend during the month of January and looks forward to seeing whats out there.

Zach says ” Coach Breitbach called me today and asked me what schools had offered and I told him, he then said they would like me to play there”. Walen is an outstanding student and will way his options carefully. He is humbled by all of the attention and just wants to work hard.

The thing thats scary about Zach Walen is that his ceiling (potential) is limitless. His natural football abilty is on the Pac 12 level, and he still has room to grow. He will either be a Divison 1aa All American or a starter on a Pac 12 type football team. Hey may have as much potential as any senior in the Northwest. We look forward to bringing you Zach’s decision when that time comes.
