The Nation’s Fastest Junior Athlete- Tatum Taylor update

One of the fastest players in the country, O’Dea RB/CB Tatum Taylor, spoke with Northwest Elite Index over the weekend and gave us an update on where things currently stand regarding this recruitment.

“I haven’t told really anybody yet, but I got offered by Purdue recently,” Taylor said. “I already had the offer from Wyoming and now I have Purdue for football and I’ve got a bunch of schools offering me for track right now.”

One of those schools was Washington, whose track coaches saw first hand when Taylor could do when he posted a 6.79 60 meters at an indoor event on their campus.

“So far it’s the fastest 60 (meters) in the country,” Taylor said. “It was pretty exciting and right after that meet, they offered me a scholarship to run track.

“As far as football, right now I’m not really sure how close they are to offering me, but I have been talking to the coaches and I really have enjoyed getting to know them all a lot better as the process has started for me.”

Taylor said he plans to take in Junior Days at Utah, Washington State, Purdue and Wyoming in the coming weeks and said he’s open to taking unofficial visits to other schools as well.

“It’s so early in the process, I know I have a lot of time to make my decision,” Taylor said. “I want to get out and see the schools who are interested in me and check out the campuses, the school and meet with the coaches. That’s when I feel like I will have all of the information I need to make my decision, so it will be a while before I decide anything.”

Taylor also said he expects to go to several Barton Camps and plans to hit the camp and combine circuit this spring and summer in order to compete against the top players he can go up against.
