Bothell Standout Reshon Watson Ready to go in 2012

One of the top corners in the northwest that is right on that D1 bubble is Reshon Watson (5-10 180 Sr. CB/RB) of Bothell. The 2nd team all league kid out of Washington has had an incredible off season, after blowing up in Vegas as part of NEI-North during the 7 on 7 national tournament.

Watson had attended our elite events during the winter and done very well, but in Vegas he went on lock down mode and was one of the top players out of either NEI Team.

Reshon more then anything is a student of the game and can play on either side of the ball. “My whole life Ive always played running back up until my junior year, but my main position now is at cornerback”. He continued, ” At first I was a little weary of my new position but it worked out for the best”.

Bothell already features D1 transfer Darrin Laufasa (6-2 225 Sr. RB/LB), Danny Wilson (6-0 185 Sr. RB/DB), and Kizhan Proctor (5-9 165 Sr. RB) in the backfield. If you add in Watson you have hands down the top 4 back system in the northwest, no questions asked.

The kids in blue are going to be loaded not just on the perimeter, but on the line. Expect to see Watson be an athlete that is able to provide unique senior leadership. Every year we see the teams that win state titles have groups of kids that fully buy in to the team concept. Watson could be one of the better running backs within the conference, but he realizes that his team is so loaded that is not where he is needed. That is a prime example of a kid that every team needs if they want to be successful.

The Cougars will be much improved from their (6-4) record a year ago, with one of the top sophomore QB’s anywhere in the country leading it in Ross Bowers (6-2 175 So.), and what looks to be a special senior class. Things will get crazy right away on August 31st as Bothell will meet defending Washington 4a State Champion Skyline in a clash of two prominent communities that love their football.

All of us at NEI and Barton Football think very highly of Watson, and consider him one of the top athletes in the northwest without an offer.
