Washington 3A Week Ten Scenarios

2015 3A Brackets and Week 10 1

To start, this is to the best of my knowledge. I have contacted coaches and athletic directors to get answers, and have generally received great responses. If you know of a mistake here, please email me, Ringerland@gmail.com and I will gladly take a look.

I am also writing this at about 4:00am after being up all night, so I could’ve made a few mistakes.

What you will see below is a breakdown of each game listed above, who can play in that game, and what it will take for them to get there.

To easily find your matchup, look at the bracket above and find the corresponding week 10 matchup in the middle, bolded and underlined.

Peninsula Seahawks – A Peninsula win this week over Bonney Lake and the Seahawks secure the #4 seed.

Wesco #2 Possible Teams:

Glacier Peak (South) and Arlington (North) clinched their respective Wesco divisions and their game this week, setting up a crossover game this week to determine seeds. The losing team will be rewarded the #2 seed.

Blanchet/Rain.Beach (Metro #6) @ Lincoln Abes (Narrows #1)

Metro #6 Possibe Teams:

Bishop Blanchet is the #2 seed from the private school side of Metro, while Rainier Beach is the #3 seed from the public school side. The two teams crossover this week, with the loser securing Metro’s #6 seed.

Narrows #1:

The Lincoln Abes have secured this seed based on their league record.

Wesco #4 @ SPSL #2

Wesco #4 Possible Teams:

Meadowdale (South) and Oak Harbor (North) clinched the #2 spots in their respective Wesco divisions, setting up a crossover game this week to determine seeds. The losing team could be awarded the #4 seed.

Ferndale Golden Eagles – For Ferndale to potentially secure a Wesco seed, they must win this week over Sedro-Woolley. A win along with a Lynden loss, and the Golden Eagles finish 2nd in the NW Conference, securing Wesco’s #4 seed. If that happens, the loser of the Meadowdale/Oak Harbor game will be pushed back to the Wesco #5 seed.

SPSL #2 Possible Teams:

Auburn Mountainview Lions – The Auburn Mountainview win in week 9 over Enumclaw has secured this seed for the Lions.

Kingco #3 Possible Teams:

Lake Washington Kangaroos – If Lake Washington loses to Bellevue, the Kangaroos will secure the #3 seed.

Juanita Rebels – If Lake Washington wins, and Juanita loses to Interlake, the Rebels will secure the #3 seed.

Bellevue Wolverines – If Lake Washington wins and Juanita wins, there will be a three-way tie for the three Kingco berths into week ten. My understanding is a coin flip will decide the #1 seed, with head-to-head determining #2 and #3.

Narrows #2 Possible Teams:

Wilson Rams – A Wilson win over Central Kitsap, and the Rams secure the #2 seed.

Shelton Highclimbers – A Shelton win over Capital along with a Central Kitsap win over Wilson, and the Highclimbers secure the #2 seed.

GSL #2 @ Kamiakin (MCC #1)

MCC #2 @ GSL #1

MCC #1 Possible Teams:

The Kamiakin Braves have secured the #1 seed based on their regular season record.

MCC #2 Possible Teams:

The Hanford Falcons and Kennewick Lions are tied for this spot, along with the Southridge Suns. Hanford and Kennewick play this week, with the winner securing the #2 spot, because both teams hold the head-to-head tiebreaker over Southridge.

GSL #1 & #2 Possible Teams:

Mount Spokane Wildcats – If Mount Spokane beats Shadle Park this week, the Wildcats will secure the #1 seed. A Mount Spokane loss and a North Central win over Rogers, and the Wildcats secure the #2 seed.

Shadle Park Highlanders – If Shadle Park beats Mount Spokane, and Rogers loses to North Central, the Highlanders will secure the #1 seed. If Shadle Park loses to Mount Spokane, and North Central beats Rogers, there will be a three-way Kansas City Tiebreaker to determine the #2 seed.

Rogers Pirates – If Shadle Park beats Mount Spokane, and Rogers beats North Central, their will be a three-way Kansas City tiebreaker for the #1 & #2 seed between Rogers , Shadle Park and Mount Spokane. If Mount Spokane wins, and Rogers wins, the Pirates will secure the #2 seed.

North Central Indians – Wins by Mount Spokane and North Central set up a three-way tiebreaker for the #2 seed. In that scenario, and Kansas City Tiebreaker would be used on either Monday or Tuesday.

SPSL #3 @ O’Dea/Roosevelt (Metro #4)

SPSL #3 Possible Teams:

Lakes Lancers – Auburn Mountainview beat Enumclaw, so the Lakes Lancers have secured the #3 seed.

Ferndale Golden Eagles – For Ferndale to potentially secure a Wesco seed, they must win this week over Sedro-Woolley. A loss and they will finish 4th in the NW Conference and miss their requirement. If they win, it will set up one of two scenarios for this seed.

  1. A win along with a Lynden loss, and the Golden Eagles finish 2nd in the NW Conference, securing Wesco’s #4 seed. If that happens, the loser of the Meadowdale/Oak Harbor game will be pushed back to the seed #5 seed. In turn, the winner of the Edmonds-Woodway/Marysville-Pilchuck game will be pushed back to this position, with the loser of that game being eliminated.
  2. A win along with a Lynden win, and the Golden Eagles finish 3rd in the NW Conference. If this happens, Ferndale will play the loser of Edmonds-Woodway/Marysville-Pilchuck on Tuesday November 3rd to determine Wesco #6 seed in the week ten round-of-32.

Kingco #1 Possible Teams:

Bellevue Wolverines – A Bellevue win this week vs Lake Washington and the Wolverines will secure the #1 seed.

Central Kitsap Cougars – A Shelton win over Capital along with a Central Kitsap win over Wilson, and the Cougars secure the #3 seed.

Wilson Rams – A Shelton loss along with a Central Kitsap win, and the Rams secure the #3 seed.

Shelton/Capital/Central Kitsap – A Shelton loss to Capital along with a Wilson win over Central Kitsap, and we have a three-way tiebreaker between Shelton, Capital and Central Kitsap. Since it would be three teams playing for two spots, I would assume they would do a Kansas City Tiebreaker, but last I heard they had yet to decide.

Metro #2 Possible Teams:

Eastside Catholic clinched the private school side of Metro based on their league record, while Ballard’s win over Roosevelt last week clinched the public school side of Metro. The two teams meet for the Metro League Championship, with the losing team securing this seed.

Juanita Rebeles – If Bellevue wins, Juanita will secure this seed regardless of the outcome of their game vs Interlake, due to their head-to-head win over Lake Washington.

Meadowdale (South) and Oak Harbor (North) clinched the #2 spots in their respective Wesco divisions, setting up a crossover game this week to determine seeds. The winning team will secure the #3 seed.
