Ballard’s Big Bruising Running Back Dominic King

Its not a traditional football power but Ballard High School in Seattle has one of the better running backs in the State of Washington. Dominic King (6-0 225 Jr. RB/LB) is a first team all league back from last season that accounted for over 1300 all purpose yards and 11 Tds. He recently showed up at our Washington Elite Event and turned heads with his combination of speed, power, and side to side agility.

King is a kid that jumped up our rankings board and definitely projects to the next level in a RB/Full Back type role. He is extremely valuable in any goal line situation, as most kids can’t handle whats coming at them. He averaged 7.5 yards per carry on a team that has struggled in recent years. Prior to this last season Ballard had won 1 game in a three year span making it a tough place for anybody to get noticed. Last season they went (3-6) but were actually 4-5 losing one game to a forfeit.

King’s first team all league honor was big for him and his school, as Head Coach Joey Thomas is doing an excellent job getting the program turned around in short order. Thomas is an outstanding hire for the school following his NFL career.

Dominic says, ” I think we are going to have a very good year, we want to make the playoffs and go from there”. King continued, ” I would definitely like to earn a scholarship and get my school paid for, I have dreamed of playing somewhere in California but would be willing to play anywhere”.

King also plays Varsity Basketball and maintains a 3.0 GPA. He knows the history of the school and said, “we want to make a run at the 2003 Team and get as far as we can”. For anyone that has not seen king you must check his video while at our last event. You can tell the kid is different and super legit. If he has the blocking and maintains his health there is no reason he couldn’t creep up on 2000 All Purpose Yards

Ballard is a team to keep your eye on in 2012, and we expect a potential .500 season or better from this improving club out of Seattle. -Dominic King Highlights
