Oregon Elite LB Johnny Ragin of Wilsonville adds Cal to list of offers: By Jordan Johnson

(Oregon top recruit Johnny Ragin (6-2 215 Sr. LB/RB) of Wilsonville added CAL to his list of offers this evening)

More good news for Oregon elite LB Johnny Ragin (6-2 215 Sr. LB/RB) of Wilsonville as Cal put their name in the running for Ragin’s services this evening. Taylor Barton broke the news via Twitter after Johnny’s in home visit went really well.

Monday night Ragin had in home visits with two schools who had already offered in Oregon St and Nevada. Tonight BYU and Cal stopped by and Ragin was at excited at the possibilities, ” my mom and I had a great home visit with BYU and Coach Gould of CAL tonight”. He continued, ” I was very appreciative when Coach Gould let me know that they would be making me an offer to be a Bear”.

Ragin won almost every accolade possible during the off season at the NIKE NFTC, the NIKE SPARQ Event, with a once in a lifetime invitation coming to the NIKE opening. He was a first team all league athlete this past season for his Wilsonville Wildcats, under highly respected Head Coach Adam Guenther. We got to know Ragin well over the last couple years, as he trained at the academy and was a member of NEI-South that traveled with us to Las Vegas.

Johnny is a 4.0 student, so a high end academic Pac 12 school is very appealing for a kid like Ragin who understands the importance of an education. He now holds offers from Oregon St, BYU, Nevada, Colorado, Wyoming, and CAL.

BYU has the #2 business school in the entire country so that is very intriguing, but regardless of what happens some university will be getting a kid with an upside that won’t quit. He is a phenomenal person first and an outstanding athlete second , and we look forward to following Johnny’s career into college.
