Washington Week Six Top Ten

WeekSix

4A

Another week and the top seven teams do not move, and this week Olympia and Richland stay in their spots. Bethel dropped from #10 to the back of the Honorable Mention. Eastlake gets back into the top 10, Kentwood’s big win over Tahoma brings them back into this post as an honorable mention. University makes their first appearance, as an honorable mention. Skyview, Battle Ground and Mountain View all look to be good teams, and could get back into the top ten if someone slips up.

4. Skyline Spartans (5-0)

3A

The top 3 remain the same, but for the second week in a row, the #4 team lost as O’Dea drops to #9. Sumner and Lakes move up one spot, with Auburn Mountainview and Juanita jumping two spots because Glacier Peak dropped to a tie at #10 with Kamiakin. Blanchet with the win of the week moves into the top ten for the first time this season. Kennedy is having a great season, but with the log jam in the top ten, will have a tough time getting in. Kelso looks like they could be the top team in the GSHL 3A, Ferndale has responded nicely to a week two loss, and Arlington makes their first appearance and might be the best Wesco North team.

1. Eastside Catholic Crusaders (5-0)
2. Bellevue Wolverines (4-1)
3. Lincoln Abes (5-0)
4. Sumner Spartans (5-0)
5. Lakes Lancers (5-0)

2A

No chance in the top six this week, might be the first time all season the 2A rankings haven’t had a ton of movement. Sedro-Woolley at 3-2 is one of the top teams in the state, and I truly believe they could make a run to the Tacoma Dome. Olympic’s defense is doing some incredible things right now, granted they haven’t played a truly great offensive opponent, but 6 points allowed through 5 games is nothing to ignore. Clarkston’s slip a few weeks back looks better now that I have been told they had 4 punts blocked in the game. River Ridge jumps into the top ten and probably wont be tested again for three weeks.

1. Tumwater Thunderbirds (5-0)
2. Prosser Mustangs (5-0)
3. Ellensburg Bulldogs (5-0)
4. Squalicum Storm (5-0)
5. Hockinson Hawks (5-0)
6. Archbishop Murphy Wildcats (5-0)
7. Sedro-Woolley Cubs (3-2)
8. Olympic Trojans (5-0)
9. Clarkston Bantams (4-1)
10. River Ridge Hawks (5-0)

Honorable Mention: Lynden Lions (3-2), Cheney Blackhawks (5-0), Black Hills Wolves (5-0), Pullman Greyhounds (4-1), Burlington-Edison Tigers (3-2), Ridgefield Spudders (5-0)

1A

No movement in the top ten this week. Only movement at all is Elma coming off the honorable mention after losing to Tenino. Big matchup this week as #9 Montesano will host #10 Hoqiuam, and QB Gregory Dick (’17).

1. Royal Knights (5-0)
2. Zillah Leopards (5-0)
3. King’s Knights (5-0)
4. Mount Baker Mountaineers (4-1)
5. Connell Eagles (4-1)
6. Freeman Scotties (4-1)
7. Cascade Christian Cougars (4-1)
8. Colville Indians (4-1)
9. Montesano Bulldogs (4-1)
10. Hoquiam Grizzlies (5-0)

Honorable Mention: Port Townsand Redhawks (5-0), Tenino Beavers (4-1), Kalama Chinooks (4-1), LaSalle Lightning (3-1)

2B

No movement in the top six this week. La Conner falls to the Honorable Mention with their 39-34 loss to Orcas Island, with Raymond and Toledo jumping one spot because of it. Not often you move up the rankings with a loss, but Northwest Christian did just that with a 32-29 loss to top ranked LRS. Soap Lake or Warden will be the top team out of the Central Washington 2B, and with Soap Lake being undefeated right now, they slide in at #10. Life Christian makes their first appearance in the honorable mention.

I actually think any of the top eight teams are capable of winning the state championship this season.

1. Lind-Ritzville Sprague Broncos (5-0)
2. Pe Ell/Willipa Valley Titans (5-0)
3. North Beach Hyaks (5-0)
4. Brewster Bears (5-0)
5. Napavine Tigers (4-1)
6. Okanogan Bulldogs (4-1)
7. Raymond Seagulls (4-1)
8. Toledo Indians (4-1)
9. Northwest Christian Crusaders (3-2)
10. Soap Lake Eagles (5-0)

Honorable Mention: La Conner Braves (4-1), Concrete Lions (3-1), Adna Pirates (3-2), Life Christian Eagles (4-1), Warden Cougars (4-1)

1B

No change this week other than Colton moving into the Honorable Mention.

1. Neah Bay Red Devils (3-0)
2. Liberty Christian Patriots (5-0)
3. Touchet Indians (4-0)
4. Almira-Coulee-Hartline Warriors (4-1)
5. Odessa/Harrington Titans (4-1)

Honorable Mention: Republic Tigers (4-1), Selkirk Rangers (5-0), Wellpinit Redskins (3-1), Lummi Blackhawks (3-1), Colton Wildcats (4-1)
