Tumwater (Wa.) TE/DE Cade Otton added his sixth offer recently and he updated Northwest Elite Index on where things stand in the recruiting process.

“I got an offer from Nevada,” Otton told NEI. “They offered me (on March 21st) and I also have offers from Eastern Washington, Nebraska, Wyoming, Hawaii and Yale as well.”

In addition to the schools that have offered, Otton has also been talking to Washington, Washington State, Oregon, Oregon State, UCLA, USC, Arizona State and Boise Sate.

“Pretty much every school wants me as a tight end, but Wyoming is looking at me as a defensive player,” Otton noted.

As a junior last season, Otton totaled 26 receptions for over 500 yards and nine scores while totaling over 138 tackles, 12 tackles-for-loss and six sacks from his linebacker spot and helping to lead his team to the state 2A Championship Game and earning First Team All-State on both sides of the ball.

“Honestly, I wouldn’t say I prefer one side over the other,” Otton admitted. “I just play football and I don’t really focus on one side more than the other.”

Otton has already seen several schools that are after him and he’s also been working out a plan for which camps he’d like to hit as well.

“I really want to get out to Nebraska, but I just got back from USC and UCLA and I have also visited Oregon and Washington and I went to Oregon State’s Junior Day,” Otton said. “I also want to get out to Washington State, Boise State and Arizona State too.

“I’m still working out a schedule on which camps I will go to because I have to fit it in with our team camp, but the schools I am thinking about camping at are Washington, Oregon, Oregon State, USC and Nebraska and I’m still thinking about whether I will hit the Opening (Regional) in Seattle.”

At 6’5″ and 220 pounds, Otton has the size and athleticism to be a factor on either side of the ball and he’s a player who should see recruiting continue to pick up over the next few months as more coaches get out to see him this spring.
