6A Top Ten Centennial (5-3) 14 @ #1 Central Catholic (8-0) 65 The Eagles have played better but this shouldn’t be close. CC is as dominant as I have ever seen them, and even if you want to 10+ D1 kids is tough to stop. #2 Tigard (8-0) 69 @ Forest Grove (4-4) 7 Expect Tigard to play their starters a little longer this week, in…
6A Top Ten Barlow (2-5) 14 @ #1 Central Catholic (7-0) 65 Look for the Rams to pick up steam as the playoffs get closer. Cam Scarlett went for 181 and 3 Tds on 9 carries last week. The Bruins aren’t a bad team, but have been getting rolled. Newberg (4-3) 10 #2 Tigard (7-0) 56 Newberg is getting better, but Tigard could very well win…
6A Top Ten David Douglas (0-6) 10 @ #1 Central Catholic (6-0) 59 This one could and should be over early. Central is loaded on both sides of the ball, and the Scots are having a down season. Look for the Rams to be done by half after coming out slow the past few weeks. #2 Tigard (6-0) 68 @ Hillsboro (2-4) 12 The Tigard reserves will…
#1 Central Catholic (5-0) 56 @ Gresham (1-4) 13
The Rams biggest test will come in the way of making the most out of their Mt Hood conference schedule. They are currently jumping up the national ranks.
#2 Tigard (5-0) 55 @ Tualatin (3-2) 16
Reynolds (1-3) 7 @ #1 Central Catholic (4-0) 65 This will be over early, as the CC starters deserve a rest after playing a brutal non league schedule. Look for some of the younger talent to shine against the Raiders. Mcminnville (3-1) 16 @ #2 Tigard (4-0) 54 The Tigers are just head and shoulders…

Simply put the first week of season was not good for predictions. There is always an unknown element to the first part of the year, but last week was not OK. Look for a vast improvement in the coming weeks.

Every year its fun to make predictions on a weekly basis within the state of Oregon. Each week I will post my picks, all in good fun, with a weekly breakdown and analysis of the top 10.
Last year I hit on 84.7% percent of my picks overall and over 90% on Top 10 games.
6A SCORES 14 (6-4) Thurston @ #4 Jesuit (10-0) 52 – Jesuit is playing their best ball of the season and firing on all cylinders. AJ Glass has returned from injury and Joey Alfieri is playing lights out defensively. If the Crusaders can stay healthy they have as good a shot as anybody to win the 2012 state title. I think they will put this one away early…
