UPDATED RANKINGS

Over the next few weeks we will be releasing our positional rankings covering the state of Washington. We will have athletes ranked numerically and an honorable mention list, based on who PROJECTS HIGHEST AT THE NEXT LEVEL.

There are a variety of factors that go into determining who projects where..These include (Current offers, Size, testing, All league/State accolades, camp/combine performances, stats, competition levels, D1/NFL Genes, GPA, Overall character/work ethic etc.). You can be a very talented high school athlete and not project to a high level of college football… ie; If you are a 5-10 first team all league or all state lineman congratulations, but you are not going to project to a D1 school. It is what it is and that goes for all positions. We feel very fortunate to have the college contacts that we do, so it’s important that the rankings are structured so that all schools can get a realistic breakdown of who they should be recruiting.

Through NEI and the Barton Football Academy we have been able to work with most of the top athletes in the region on a consistent basis, which has enabled us to make the accuracy of our evaluations more legitimate then any other group or recruiting source.

All of these rankings are subject to change at any time based on any new information received. It’s important that we see any athlete that feels they are one of the best, as we can only determine so much based on film or word of mouth. Any top athlete that feels they should be higher on this list should get out to one or more of our NEI/Barton Football Camp and Combine events.

As most of you know all of our events are documented via video allowing us to see kids in person, while breaking down film of athletes after the fact if we still have questions about a kid. No other football academy has ever ventured to do such a thing, but we feel that this is the most fair and accurate way to give each athlete a ranking. Obviously nothing is perfect, but it is by far and away the most credible source in the region.

1) Kaleb McGary 6-7 280 Fife OL (Offers: Oregon State, Washington)

Very athletic line prospect with nimble feet and a frame that can easily carry another 30 to 40 pounds. His performance at Oregon State’s line camp this spring earned him an offer from the Beavers, and he looked phenomenal at our NEI/Barton Camp/Combine Event in Vancouver. Transferred from Battle Ground to Fife, and will have a chance to go against the other top lineman in the state’s of Oregon and Washington at our off season work outs.

(Morgan Richey)

2) Morgan Richey 6-4 270 Bellevue OL http://www.hudl.com/athlete/1297752/highlights/9790373

Richey will likely be the next highly-touted lineman to come out of the Wolverines’ system. He’s got outstanding athleticism and he plays with a nasty streak. A real leader, that is only going to get better.

(Jonah Jordan)

3) Jonah Jordan 6-2 265 Mead (Spokane) OL http://www.hudl.com/athlete/853222/highlights/16569390

Does his best work paving the way for talented junior Davian Barlow, super athletic as he can play all three O line spots, but dominate on D at times. One of the best juniors in the state. Upside is off the charts, football family as his dad has been a coach.

4) Mason Johnson 6-3 300 Kentlake DL/OL http://www.hudl.com/athlete/654200/highlights/21688391

Kids just a monster and can play on either side of the ball..His combination of size and speed is rare, as this will be a kid that will be able to help a D1 line immediately. High profile kid that can play D1 ball on either O or D.

5) Chandler Streuli 6-3 290 OL/DL Enumclaw http://www.hudl.com/athlete/635757/highlights/940339

Good size and strength. Moves really well for his size. Still fairly raw and getting better by the game. Also a very good student with a 3.9 GPA. With a strong camp season he could rise.

6) Drew Clarkson 6-4 275 OL/DL Camas

Leader of the Camas line with Durrett.. Extremely quick for his size. Project at the D1 level… Has played as well, if not better than any young lineman in the NW.. Very bright future.

(Kayden Maughn)

7) Kayden Maughn 6-3 240 Chiawana (Pasco) DL http://www.hudl.com/athlete/593402/highlights/7776394

Talented line prospect who earned First Team All-Big Nine 4A as a sophomore. Super athletic multi Sport kid (Basketball), that has legit D1 quciks and size. BYU has already been by the school. You can bet many more will be by too, one of the best players in the state.

8) Chris Durrett 6-2 270 Camas (Vancouver) DL/OL

Played quite a bit for a very talented Camas squad in 2011, totaling 38 tackles and four sacks. Uses his hands well and anchors strong against the run. Very talented kid that can play on either side of the ball, big D1 prospect playing for one of the best teams in the state.

9) Chandler Newell 6-2 235 Chiawana (Pasco) OL

Named Honorable Mention All-Big Nine in 2011. Newell is strong and the Riverhawks love to run behind him. Will be part of s special junior class that has a host of talented kids including big time talent DE Kayden Maughn.

11) Brad Kimball 6-4 235 Mercer Island OL http://www.hudl.com/athlete/411201/highlights/11644372

Played only OL in 2012, it will be interesting to see where he ultimately ends up. Islander coaches love his potential on defense, but he will man the right tackle spot as well. He’s athletic and a hard worker, can also play TE.

12) Shay Dingfelder 6-0 265 Issaquah OL

As a sophomore, Dingfelder earned Second Team All-Kingco 4A Crest Division in 2011 and he’ll be counted on to help pave the way for the Eagles’ potent rushing attack. Strong at the point and plays with good leverage. Kids a very good football player, but right its all about height and not his skill set.

12) Jakob Stoll 6-2 260 Wenatchee DL/OL http://www.hudl.com/athlete/830290/highlights/9110391

Physical at the point of attack and can run. Named Honorable Mention All-Big Nine as a sophomore in 2011. Did very well at our elite events, and should be considered one of the top two way lineman in Washington. Plays with a non stop motor and then some.

Washington 2014 DL’s

(Marcus Griffin)

1) Marcus Griffin 6-3 280 Bellevue DT http://www.hudl.com/athlete/1520364/highlights/21787138

Solid looking prospect with outstanding size. Played sparingly as a sophomore – few play in Bellevue’s system – but he’ll be a real rock in the middle for the Wolverines this fall.

(Mason Johnson)

2) Mason Johnson 6-3 300 Kentlake DL/OL http://www.hudl.com/athlete/654200/highlights/21688391

Kids just a monster and can play on either side of the ball..His combination of size and speed is rare, as this will be a kid that will be able to help a D1 line immediately. High profile kid that can play D1 ball on either O or D.

2) Shane Bowman 6-4 220 Bellevue DE http://www.hudl.com/athlete/1297754/highlights/9793376
Bowman is very athletic. Sheds his blocks really well and never gives up on a play. Becomes almost unblockable at times. Started 6 games as a Sophomore on the best team in the state. Referenced by Tom Lemming as one of the better Jr DEs in the country. His upside is HUGE!

4) Jarius McDade 6-3 300 O’Dea (Seattle) DL

Big, physical presence that can move in the interior. Very disruptive lineman. Unique intangibles for a big man. Looks to be one of the best DLineman in the Northwest. Could climb this list.

5) Jonah Jordan 6-2 265 Mead (Spokane) OL/DL http://www.hudl.com/athlete/853222/highlights/16569390

Does his best work paving the way for talented junior Davian Barlow, super athletic as he can play all three O line spots, but dominate on D at times. One of the best juniors in the state. Upside is off the charts, football family as his dad has been a coach.

6) Trey Tutt 6-4 255 Southridge (Kennewick) DL http://www.hudl.com/athlete/505373/highlights/10431373

Strong against the run and is explosive enough to collapse the pocket. Had a very good season for the Suns last year posting 52 tackles and four sacks. D1 body with a big upside.

7) Willie Eteaki 6-2 310 Skyview (Vancouver) DT

Transferred from Southridge (Or.), where he started as a freshman on one of the better teams in the state. Storm coaches couldn’t be happier. He will play both the nose and the three-technique, pass-rushing spot for Skyview this fall. He’s strong and aggressive and he loves to get after it.

8) Micah Prescott 6-1 300 DL Renton

Super impressive kid that plays both ways and is extremely athletic. Comes off the end hard and can pose problems on the interior of the line as well. Did very well at the UW Showcase event against older competition. Coach Donald Ponds is doing an outstanding job with his athletes.

9) Jason Vailea 6-2 235 Camas (Vancouver) DL

Athletic and gets off the ball quickly, kid is super talented and could potentially project as more of a backer, but he is one of the best lineman off the ball in the state. He is good blocking fullback, but can run like a big half back so colleges will have a host of options with him making him even more appealing.

10) Elisha Pa’aga 511 265 Eastside Catholic (Sammamish) DL http://www.hudl.com/athlete/800707/highlights/9258379

Pa’aga earned Second Team All-Metro both ways for the Crusaders last fall, as both a fullback and as a defensive lineman. He’s almost impossible to move off of the line due to his low center-of-gravity.

10) Jakob Stoll 6-2 260 Wenatchee DL http://www.hudl.com/athlete/830290/highlights/9110391

Physical at the point of attack and can run. Named Honorable Mention All-Big Nine as a sophomore in 2011. Did very well at our elite events, and should be considered one of the top two way lineman in Washington. Plays with a non stop motor and then some.

HONORABLE MENTION

Chris Durrett 6-2 270 Camas (Vancouver) DL/OL

Played quite a bit for a very talented Camas squad in 2011, totaling 38 tackles and four sacks. Uses his hands well and anchors strong against the run. Very talented kid that can play on either side of the ball, big D1 prospect playing for one of the best teams in the state.

Dakota Weir 6-2 285 Auburn Mountainview DL http://www.hudl.com/athlete/715552/highlights/16912817

Could wind up as a center on the O line, but has done well defensively and is a two way threat. Did very well at camps in the offseason. We look forward to seeing him against elite competition.

Did very well on the NEI/BFA camp and combine tour. Undersized, but extremely athletic and very disruptive.

Jaquer Baker 6-3 250 Rainier Beach (Seattle) DL

Beach always has a lot of talent on their team, but rarely is there so much along both lines. This year, Baker will be counted on to hold up along the defensive line for the Vikings. He was named Second Team All-Metro as a sophomore in 2011 after totaling 45 tackles and four sacks.

Austin Striplin 6-3 240 Sumner DE http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QZlJaUz9okY&feature=relmfu

He plays MLB for the Spartans but is see on the DL in the future. Was told he played DL as a Fresh, but lost 30+ pounds so he could play LB. 91 tackles as a Sophomore. Moves well from sideline to sideline. Not the fastest kid in the world, but his instincts make the play. Also plays LT on offense.

Monike Sarte 6-1 300 Fife DT

Really big kid that moves well considering his size. Requires the double team if you want to run the ball towards him. Could rise quickly.
